I was only unhappy because one of the legs were bent. Thankful that Husband is a handy man and was able to fix it. Overall, the desk is the perfect size and sturdy. The bent leg didn't cause any issues other than made it difficult to put the extender on.In the details describing the item, it very clearly states it has a steel book box. We ordered multiple desks for a classroom to match our current ones, and these came in with plastic book boxes. If you look closely on the details much lower on the page, it does say plastic, but at the top of the page it clearly says steel.This product seems to be very sturdy. Love it
