These work great to keep all my cookbooks together on top of my cabinet.These bookends work perfectly, and have plenty of room on the base to support some large, heavy books against them. I was a bit irritated when I opened the box to discover each bookend has a large, bright white, plainly visible brand name painted on the top outside edge, which is impossible to remove. This branding is not in the Amazon photos, and I think it detracts from the appearance. That said, they work, so I'll keep them.Like many other reviewers, I didn't realize these bookends came with white product letters emblazened across the outside. However, the good news is that a black sharpie makes it virtually unnoticeable. (See photo.) Would it hold up under close scrutiny? No. But the likelihood of someone staring at my bookends, looking for imperfections, is pretty low so I'm good with it.One of the bookends was a little bit off but with a little pressure I bent it back where it needed to go.Conclusion: these particular bookends are probably the least expensive of all that look like them, so if you don't mind having to DIY them a bit they are great! If you don't want to mess with it, maybe spend a few more dollars on another brand.It's strange how the most insignificant objects in life can cause so much stress. :) I had three simple criteria when looking for new bookends. 1. Simple yet stylish design, 2. Solid, 3. Cost Effective (I needed four pairs) and I thought these might hit the mark but they missed by just a bit.These are solidly built and simply designed but they have one major design flaw. The outer flange (which faces away from your books) boldy includes the ADKWSE (which sounds like some horribly translated Chinese to English name specifically created for Amazon) brand name brightly painted in large WHITE lettering. I wanted the bookends to simply fade away. I ended up painting these a gunmetal grey to cover up the label and more seamlessly integrate with the bookcase.Additionally, the free metal mesh pencil cup is a nice touch but not necessary; it doesn't match the collection and I'd rather you leave it out and save me two bucks.Good deal, but be aware that the lettering shown on some (not all) of the photos is in fact printed on the item itself. It can be scraped off fairly easily, leaves light scratching marks, but I don't understand why a company would put their tacky lettering on a basic item like this. I would've bought the same item from one of the many other dealers that didn't put their name. Shown before and after my efforts. Otherwise, nicely made & functional.but I didn't realize they had the company name in white across the tops of the bookends. A really cool design. I wish they put their branding on the other side, or in black, so it doesn't draw attention.I love these: they’re sturdy enough to hold my books but look delicate and pretty. People complained about the prominent label of the company, and that is a poor design, but it was way to color over and isn’t visible unless you look close. I’m very happy with them.This was a good buy since I didn’t need anything powerful since these bookends are being used for my dvd’s. I would have liked them to be just a touch heavier but so far they’re working just fine. I would recommend for this purpose again. I’m sure they would be fine for a handful of books as well.No sujeta ningun libro, super chiquitos, la estructura metálica es extremadamente delgada por lo que llegaron doblados, muy mal acabado. Para nada lo recomiendo.No pesan absolutamente nada, no pueden sostener libros de cómic pequeños, tuve que usar dos para sostener 12 libros infantiles de 15 hojas. Son tan endebles que venían ligeramente doblados y los pude enderezar sin mucho esfuerzo. No sirven para libros de adultos, se resbalan, se caen de lado. Muy malosCompré estos sujeta libros porque el diseño combina con la herrería que tengo en casa, me parecen muy útiles, lindos y sostienen muy bien. Le quito una estrella porque después de comprar 4 paquetes, recibí un anuncio del mismo producto pero como 200 pesos mas barato cada paquete!!, no se porque el proveedor o Amazon (no se de quien dependa) no unifica costos.De lujo, bueno, bonito, barato. Ampliamente recomendadoMe encantó, buen tamaño y diseño elegante.
