This is my 4th or 5th copy of the Jane Brody classic. Previous issues disintegrated from heavy use. As a woman with a life-long weight problem, this cookbook changed my life when it was first issued in the 80's. Fairly low-fat, high complex carb recipes which any novice cook can handle and batting about .750 on the deliciousness scale.I have won a chili cook off with the Vegetable Chili recipe. For the past 20 years or more, "Chicken Barleycorn Soup" has been my favorite soup. And the "French Dressing" made with yogurt has been my favorite vegetable dip. Brody doesn't follow the crowd in trying to make a low-fat dish look like a high-fat counterpart, she just concentrates on flavor and satisfaction.
