I got these for a set of Spalding clubs I bought in 1980 that I recently restored. Wanted something good that kept the old nostalgic wrap look while keeping the cost down. I was going to use the same GP wraps that I use on my newer clubs but went with these on a friends recommendation (despite the many negative reviews regarding quality and difficult installation). I'm glad I listened to my friend. The grip kit I received was exactly as described and arrived 3 days early. The grips measured the same as my GP midsize and I found them to be of the same general quality. I had no problem what so ever with installation. Coated the tape AND the inside of the new grip with solvent, carefully worked the open end of the grip onto the end of the shaft and it firmly slid on until properly seated. I found the installation no more or less difficult than with any of the other major brands that I have used over the years. The reviewers who tore and destroyed grips and were just not able to install them had to be doing something wrong. There is a knack to installing grips, and they are not suppose to just slip on like a banana peel there is suppose to be some mild pushing and slight twisting involved so when the solvent dries after several hours the grips are firmly in place. As far as the quality goes I found it very good. They have a firm base but are soft and tacky when held. I just used them for 27 holes and really like them. Another plus for me is that they are made in the USA. I would definitely buy them again.
